HAL RUYLE PHOTO SCRAPBOOK

Among some of the front running drivers at Illiana Motor Speedway (Schererville, Ind.) in 1952 were Hal Ruyle (left), Nick Trgovich (center) and Don Oldenberg.  Ruyle won the 100-lap season finale at the northwest Indiana dirt oval.

Using a late season push for the title, Hal Ruyle claimed the 1950 stock car championship at Chicagoland's Raceway Park.  Ruyle sits proudly on the front of his title-winning Hank Salat-owned '46 Packard after winning Raceway's third annual 300 Lap Classic.
