ELMER STEINBECK
Elmer Steinbeck (left) poses with the late

1972. Steinbeck worked at Illiana from 1972 through 2007 as the track's
official timer and scorer. Steinbeck began scoring races in 1952 at the old
87th St. Speedway in Chicago and later worked at Sante Fe Speedway, O'Hare
Stadium and the Rockford Speedway before coming to work at Illiana. Steinbeck
retired after this past season and was honored at Illiana's banquet in November.

Longtime Illiana Motor Speedway timer and scorer Elmer Steinbeck says a few words at the speedway's annual awards banquet in 2007.
